General Conditions of Insurance
W zakresie ubezpieczenia OC p.p.m. – ustawa z dnia 22-05-2003 r. o ubezpieczeniach obowiązkowych, Ubezpieczeniowym Funduszu Gwarancyjnym i Polskim Biurze Ubezpieczycieli Komunikacyjnych (Dz. U. z 2003 r. Nr 124 poz.1152 z późn. zm.).
Who can rent a car?
Anyone over 21 years old who has a valid driving license for at least one year entitling them to drive a car on Polish territory.
Do you need to have a credit card to rent a car?
No. A debit card is enough. If you book a car at least three days in advance, you can also pay for rental by an online wire transfer or a traditional bank transfer. Remember, however, that you will always need a payment card (credit or debit card), so that a refundable deposit can be blocked from it for the time of rental.
How can I book a car?
The easiest way is through our online reservation form. You should choose your preferred car class, date of collection and return, additional accessories, enter your details and make payment. Confirmation of booking is sent to the return e-mail address provided during booking. If you do not have Internet access, you can use our helpline (+48) 123 000 300 or contact a selected branch directly. Contact details for all branches can be found at our website.
What documents do you need to have in order to rent a car?
A driving license and another identity document (ID card or passport).
How much does it cost to rent a car from Express?
Car prices vary depending on the selected class. You can review them under the price-list. If you are booking a car through the form on our website, you can see the price of rental and selected accessories immediately. The system will also automatically calculate discounts and promotions. In the case of phone bookings or bookings at our branches, the member of our staff will calculate the rental price and inform you of all of its constituent charges.
Is rental charged with extra fees?
There are no hidden fees in our rental company. The total cost of rental will be stated at the time of booking. A detailed price-list for cars, additional accessories and car delivery can be found in the price-list
What is a deposit?
It is the amount which will be locked from your payment card (credit or debit card, Visa or MasterCard) for the time of car rental. If your card does not support the lock function (pre-authorization), a deposit will be debited from the card. Deposit will be returned. The funds on your card will be unlocked if the car is returned without damage.
I do not have a card. Can another person pay for rental on my behalf?
Yes. You only need to inform us when booking. If you are booking a car online, state that the driver of the rented car is a different person than the one making the payments in the "Additional Information" box.
May car rental for a company be paid by wire transfer?
Yes.
Can a person who is not a company owner rent a car?
Yes. It is enough that they are over 21 years old, have a driving license valid for at least one year and provide another document to identify them.
Do you offer additional accessories such as GPS?
Yes. We offer anything that can be useful for short and long-distance journeys: GPS, child seats, roof, ski or bike racks. If you are booking a car by phone or directly at an Express branch, the member of our staff will check the availability of accessories and calculate the price of rental. Use the form on our website, and you will be able to do that on your own. You only need to select a piece of equipment and its price will be automatically calculated for the selected rental period.
Where can I collect the car I booked?
You can collect your car at one of the many branches throughout Poland. For an additional fee we can also deliver the car at any desired location, such as the airport, train station or a hotel.
Can you collect/return the car at points other than those mentioned in the booking form?
Yes. The list of collection/return points shows some positions which include passwords instead of city or street names, e.g. "Bydgoszcz – city." Select this option and enter the exact address where you want to collect the car during the next booking step.
Can I collect the car from the airport?
Yes. We bring cars for all airports in Poland. Our rental branches are located at the largest airports in Poland (Gdańsk, Kraków, Katowice, Warszawa, Modlin, Wrocław).
Can you book a car on the day of its collection or a day before it?
Yes. Remember that for bookings made less than 3 days prior to rental, payment is possible only by credit/ debit card. If you need to rent a car immediately, please directly contact any Express branch or helpline at (+48) 123 000 300. The list of all branches can be found at the tab Express branches
Do cars have a mileage limit imposed?
No. You can cover as many kilometers as you want in a rented car.
Must the car be driven only by the person who rented it?
No. It is possible to authorize additional drivers. Their data must be reported no later than on the date of car rental. It will be necessary to provide their identity documents and their valid driving licenses, too. If you are renting a car through the form on the website, you can immediately provide the details of additional drivers. That way, the procedure of car procedure will be much shorter on the day of its collection.
Is there a fee charged if the car is driven by a person different than the one who rents it?
Yes, as per the renting price-list.Remember that the data related to additional drivers must be reported no later than on the date of car rental. It will be also necessary to provide their identity documents and their valid driving licenses.
Can I travel beyond the boundaries of Poland in a rented car?
Yes. If you are planning a trip abroad, please let us know prior to collecting the car. After receiving a written permission, you can travel to all countries of the European Union, Switzerland, Norway. Travel to countries outside that list requires a prior contact by phone at (+48) 123 000 300 or e-mail at express@express.pl. Travelling beyond the Polish borders involves a small fee for equipping the car with items required in other European countries.
Is it possible to rent a car with third-party automobile liability insurance for a person who has caused an accident?

What should I do in the event of car failure or accident?
In the event of any accident, car immobilization, road collision or other events related to the rented car, please contact the technical helpline at (+48) 123 000 333. The member of our staff will provide comprehensive information on how to proceed. The helpline is available 24 hours a day throughout the year, also for callers from places outside of Poland.
I have no Polish driving license. Can I rent a car?

Yes. You can travel around Poland, if your driving license was issued in one of the following countries:

Albania, Austria, Bahamas, Bahrain, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Bulgaria, the Central African Republic, Coast d'Ivoire, Croatia, Cuba, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Guyana, Hungary, Iceland, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malta, Monaco, Mongolia, Morocco, Netherlands, Niger, Norway, Pakistan, the Philippines, Poland, Portugal, the Republic of Moldova, Romania, Russia, San Marino, Senegal, Seychelles, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uruguay, Uzbekistan, Zimbabwe.

Drivers who use a driving license issued inter alia in the U.S., Canada, Japan, Australia and Turkey must also have an international driving license.

Is it possible to extend the rental during its lifetime?
Yes. If you extend the vehicle rental with 24 hours, you can do it by phone contacting the Commercial Helpline at (+48) 123 000 300. If you wish to extend the rental with more than 24 hours, you will need to pay for the extension. You can pay in person at the nearest Express branch or by calling the Commercial Helpline and stating the details of your credit card. The helpline's employee will collect the funds from your card during the call.
Can I cancel the administrative fee for damage by purchasing an additional package?

The administrative fee for any damage to the vehicle is charged after you cause a collision, damage to the vehicle or if the person who caused an accident is unknown. If another road user caused an accident, and you contacted the Technical Helpline and followed the instructions given by the helpline's employee, the administrative fee will not be charged.

Even if you are the person to have caused damage, or if such person is unknown, you can still cancel the administrative fee. You just need to purchase the Cancellation of Administrative Fee for Damage service before renting a car.
